Bio

I was born and raised in Montana, and when I was in kindergarten I had a classmate and friend who brought a drawing of his to school one day.  The drawing was of three leperchauns, and I thought it was great.   It made such an impression on me, I knew right then and there, that I wanted to be an artist, and from that day on I have been.

I have taken some formal art classes, but most of my training has been done on my own. My medium of choice is acrylic and my subject matter varies quite a bit.  I paint what “I feel like” painting.  Sometimes I feel like painting landscapes and sometimes I feel like painting whatever surrealistic scene pops into my head.  I tend to enjoy and appreciate the latter style more, because they are the most difficult.  I say this because I have to create the entire picture from nothing.  In a landscape painting an artist is able to draw from reality when choosing colors and composition.  But in a painting purely from the imagination, the artist must be willing to take chances, be willing to fail, but most importantly, challenge the viewer.
